Erik ten Hag has already answered ‘difficult’ Wayne Rooney question on Manchester United attacker

A number of Manchester United players are due to exit this summer, not least those out of contract.

Raphael Varane waved goodbye to Old Trafford in Wednesday’s 3-2 win over Newcastle while Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans also see their deals run dry next month. But the likes of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen could be shown the door while United will let Bruno Fernandes go if an irresistible offer suits both club and captain. One player certain to exit is Anthony Martial.

He has missed the last 27 games and a total of 70 matches over the course of the past three seasons having suffered eight different injuries. His contract expires this summer having not kicked a ball since early December.

Roy Keane says constant setbacks will make Martial an unappealing prospect for a new club, while former teammate of two years Wayne Rooney admitted to Sky Sports that he couldn't remember the last time he saw Martial on the pitch.
