Every word of Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic Park address as boss basks in his title prophecy before poignant fan message

He said he would see them in May – and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is a man of his wod after lapping up the title celebrations at Parkhead.

The emphatic 5-0 rout of Kilmarnock crowned the Hoops as champions for the third successive time – and their 12th success in 13 years. The party rumbled long into the night for the diehard punters who turned up at Celtic Park to greet their heroes after their Scottish Premiership triumph. The celebrations started in Ayrshire and rumbled on all the way to Glasgow's east end with the crowd serenading the Celtic players with 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' as Callum McGregor led the jubilant scenes.

And Rodgers then addressed the bumper crowd after the pyro and fireworks had calmed. He said on the Celtic Way: "I stood here just under a year ago and there was about 200 people and I said I'd see you back here in May. We have a few more than 200 here and this evening is about the players and the staff.

"The honesty of this group, everybody was writing them off from August. But they kept working and were honest to the game and to the club and tonight they get the reward. For the players, a massive, massive thank you.

'Secondly, from myself to my staff members the close members of the coaching team and the management team, and the analysis, the sports science, medicine everything you have to have that team behind you or I wouldn't be stood here. Their work, I appreciate so, so much. So thank you.

"And lastly to the supporters, when you manage Celtic, or play for Celtic or work for Celtic we actually live for you. Hopefully tonight you can be proud of the team and the club, and we can really celebrate on Saturday when the season finishes. So, thank you very much."
