'I hope' - Amad opens up on Kobbie Mainoo relationship after Manchester United goals

Amad and Kobbie Mainoo might only just be starting out with their partnership in the first-team at Manchester United but they have had plenty of time to fine-tune their celebrations during games at Carrington.

The youngsters have built up a close bond at United and try to play on the same team in small-sided games in training. Practice made perfect on Wednesday night when they both scored in the 3-2 win against Newcastle United.

Mainoo gave United the lead from an Amad pass in the first half and the winger scored his third goal for the club after the break to restore the lead, smashing in an unstoppable half-volley. The youngsters celebrated together after that goal and Amad revealed they are close on and off the pitch.

"In the training, we try to play together, to make that combination in the training, when we play together like today we try and to make the same things like in the training," he said.

"We are young players, we are motivated to shine here and I hope to continue like this. It’s important to have Kobbie Mainoo in the team.

"He’s a good player and I have a good relationship with him outside of the pitch, with him and Garnacho. We are happy to play together."

Amad has enjoyed what feels like a breakthrough week at the club. He made his first start for United in 887 days against Arsenal and kept his place for the visit of Newcastle.
