Theory about 'why red bags are loaded on to planes first' causes stir online

A theory about why red bags are loaded first onto aeroplanes has taken the internet by storm.

The angst of awaiting your precious suitcase at your holiday destination is familiar to many a traveller. However, it appears that if your case happens to be red, you may be left twiddling your thumbs longer than your fellow passengers.

This follows from a video clip that has been making its rounds on TikTok, where red suitcases are seen to be prioritised in loading - sparking a flurry of speculation over the reason for this practice.

TikTok user @idkstirling took to the platform to share his findings after "two hours of research", seeking to get to the bottom of why red luggage receives such attention.

Social media was awash with a tremendous number of theories, one suggesting its done so these brightly coloured belongings arent "left behind when unloading" - a theory perceived to be considerable plausible by some.

However, @idkstirling reveals that following significant research, he found "zero information" to substantiate that red luggage is indeed prioritised. In an unexpected twist, TikToker @djsugue offered an alternative viewpoint, saying that "local bags are loaded first, which means you fly to your stop and you're off and done."

Connection bags are the second to be loaded onto the aircraft, indicating you're "going to have another flight" afterwards. He further added: "The final bags that are loaded are fragile bags and standby bags".

As he concluded his video, he urged viewers with any additional knowledge on the red bag theory to chime in.

Beneath the video, one user theorised these were the luggage pieces of the "flight crew",
