Tiger Woods in Masters SEX ban as five time winner takes Augusta preparations to the extreme

Tiger Woods is under a self imposed SEX ban in a bid to star in the Masters next week.

The first major of the year tees off at Augusta in a week's time and wiel Woods hasn't officially announced that he will compete, a friend claims that the golf legend has admitted to friends that he will take part. The five-time Masters winner has flown to Augusta, which suggests he is ready to fight for the green jacket. But to give himself the best chance, the American is sacrificing all he can in a bid to be ready.

An according to a pal, that includes denying himself every indulgence ahead of returning to the course competitively for the first time since February. And the bedroom fun won't resume until after the prestigious tournament is over and the winner is crowned. The friend told the New York Post: “He’s focused. He’s working really hard in the gym. He’s eating right. He’s even eliminated sex.

“He does that now when he’s preparing: no sex until the tournament is over. He doesn’t want anything to take away his focus.”

Woods isn't the only sportsman to swear off sex to try and help ensure success. Iconic boxer Muhammad Ali claimed he wold remain celibate for six weeks before stepping into the ring.

NFL franchise the San Francisco 49s designated "red light" games in 1980s, when players were forbidden to have sex in the run up. More recently, England players were under put on a similar ban by Fabio Capello ahead of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, with the Italian keen to prevent his stars from becoming "distracted."

If Woods does play next week, it will be his 26th Masters. His 2023 bid was cut short as plantar fasciitis meant he had to withdraw after 54 holes. He last won his self confessed "favourite" tournament in 2019.
