When the summer transfer window opens and shuts in major Premier League change announcement

The Premier League has revealed the dates for the upcoming summer and January transfer windows, with Manchester United and Manchester City both preparing for a busy period.

United could be working with a new manager as Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe get to work on overhauling the squad. Some key players could be sold during the window including Bruno Fernandes with a freshly structured recruitment team coming on board including Jason Wilcox to try and get the club back to challenging at the top.

As for City, they are never far away from sizeable deals with Pep Guardiola hoping to build from a position of strength. There are no clear areas of weakness for the five-time champions but that doesn't rule them out of being active in the market.

Here, the Manchester Evening News brings you all you need to know about the summer transfer window.

The summer transfer window is set to open from Friday 14 June until Friday 30 August, closing at 11pm. This will only give teams two weeks to complete deals that can be accounted for in the 2023/24 financial books.

The previous January transfer window was one of the least active in Premier League history. With Everton facing a points deduction and Nottingham Forest
