Coronation Street's Peter Ash supported as he asks for fans' help over challenge linked to Paul Foreman

Coronation Street star Peter Ash has been supported as he has been asking for his fans' help over his latest challenge The actor is best known for playing Paul Foreman in the ITV soap.

Peter has recently been playing a string of challenging soap scenes in which his character Paul's health deteriorates as a result of being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. He was told of the life-shortening disease, in which messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles, last April with there currently being no cure.

Earlier this year, Corrie fans saw Paul's husband Billy Mayhew discover what Paul had been secretly planning after watching the heartbreaking moment Paul suggested to Todd Grimshaw that he wanted to make the choice when his life should come to an end as his symptoms caused by the life-limiting disease progress.

After his initial reluctance to agree to Paul's plan, Billy, in the end, vowed to be there for his husband and help him when he decides the time has come for him to end his own life. The couple have since been going about their business, both knowingly hiding a secret.

More recently, Paul's dad, Denny, arrived in Weatherfield after hearing his interview about dying with Amy Barlow. Paul's mum Bernie Winter covered her shock at coming face-to-face with her ex and made out Paul’s already dead and the interview was a recording, only for him to follow her to the flat and come face-to-face with his children for the first time in years.
