David Beckham delivers Erik ten Hag verdict amid Manchester United sack pressure
David Beckham admits Manchester United were "lucky" to have Sir Alex Ferguson as manager whilst praising current Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag.
Beckham played in some of United's greatest-ever teams including their historic 1998/99 treble-winning campaign. The former midfielder made over 390 appearances for the club, scoring 85 goals and providing 120 assists which contributed to six Premier League titles.
The former England captain's trophy-winning career at Old Trafford is in stark contrast to the struggles his former club have endured since the retirement of Sir Alex in 2013. United have failed to compete for the top-flight title since their legendary manager stepped away and are struggling badly this season under Ten Hag.

But Beckham has praised United's under-fire manager. He also acknowledged that the club struck gold under Ferguson and former coaches and players.
"We all know that Erik's a very qualified manager and a good manager and he has the right motives," he told talkSPORT on Thursday night. "But I think we were lucky in our day that we had Sir Alex Ferguson, we were lucky that we had Eric Harrison and Jim Ryan and Nobby Stiles and all of these great managers and motivators."
Former teammate Gary Neville meanwhile has urged Ineos to give Ten Hag another season in charge. He believes the major injury issues at Old Trafford have played a key role in their struggles.
