Devastated family have 'no words to describe the pain' after death of 'caring dad and talented DJ'

The family of a 'caring dad' and 'talented DJ' at the centre of a murder investigation say they 'have no words to the describe the pain' caused by his death.

Graham Cox, 37, was found dead at a property in Barton Walk in Farnworth, Bolton, on Tuesday evening (March 5). Police were initially called to the address over 'concerns for his welfare'.

A 34-year-old was arrested on suspicion of his murder. He has since been bailed.

Tributes have been paid to Mr Cox, who worked as a DJ and producer, and was described as a 'friend to many'. A fundraiser has also been set up to raise money towards his funeral. On the GoFundMe page, he has been described as a 'caring dad' who has been 'cruelly taken away from his children'.

In a statement issued through Greater Manchester Police today, a spokesperson for Mr Cox's family said: “We are absolutely devastated and have no words to describe the pain we are feeling at this moment in time. We would like everyone to respect our privacy during this terrible situation."

Detectives have previously revealed that the incident is being assessed by GMP’s Professional Standards Directorate 'due to previous police contact with the victim'. Police said they believed the incident was 'isolated' with 'no wider threat to the wider community'.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact police on 101 or visiting gmp.police.uk, quoting log number 2634 of 05/03/24. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
