Further details revealed over incident that has left girl, 16, fighting for life

A 16-year-old girl is fighting for her life in hospital after 'taking suspected ecstasy', the Manchester Evening News understands.

The girl is believed to have 'collapsed in an alleyway' off Wilbraham Road in Chorlton last night (May 1), according to local workers on the busy road. Police and paramedics then raced to the scene.

The M.E.N understands that the teenager collapsed after taking what was suspected to be the class A drug ecstasy. She was rushed to hospital from the scene.

Amie Richards, the general manager at Chorlton Tap, which is just a few doors down from the scene, said the area was 'swarming with police' last night.

“I didn’t realise she was so young” she said. “I just hope she pulls through.”
