Manchester City did what they needed to do on Sunday as they kept the pressure on Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

The Blues picked up a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest to move just a point behind the Gunners who beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 earlier in the day. Erling Haaland's composed finish followed Josko Gvardiol's first half header to secure what was eventually a straightforward win.

However, the relegation-threatened hosts did not go down without a fight and another day it could have been a different story. It may not have been as dominant as Thursday's victory over Brighton but it is results that count at the end of the day.
