John McGlynn named PFA Manager of the Year as Falkirk Invincible sees off Derek McInnes and Tony Docherty

John McGlynn has capped off a stunning season by being crowned PFA Manager of the Year.

The Falkirk gaffer will be leading his troops out in the Scottish Championship next season after an incredible League One title triumph. The Bairns finished 16 points clear of nearest challengers Hamilton Accies and not only did they land top position in the third tier but they also went the whole league campaign UNBEATEN to end the 2023-24 season as Invincibles.

McGlynn and his men had to do it the hard way in front of over 7000 supporters after falling two goals behind Alloa Athletic with former player Conor Sammon looking like he would come back to haunt his old club. But goals from Aidan Nesbitt just before the break and a penalty from Brad Spencer with just five minutes on the clock secured the comeback to spark wild scenes. And McGlynn has now been handed the ultimate accolade by his peers.

Derek McInnes and Tony Docherty were the other nominees in the running with both enjoying excellent campaigns. Kilmarnock have booked European football for next season and are on course to finish in fourth spot while Dundee secured an excellent top six finish in their first season back in the big time. They are still in the mix to end the campaign fifth and in Europe as well but a weekend defeat to St Mirren has left them trailing the Buddies by five points with just three rounds of fixtures to go.
