Emergency services are currently in attendance at Woodbank Park in Offerton amid an ongoing incident. Police, incident response units and fire crews have been pictured at the park in Stockport this evening.

A number of emergency services vehicles have been seen lining Turncroft Lane, with other vehicles also seen in a car park beside an entrance to the park.

Further details about the nature of this ongoing incident have not yet been confirmed. Greater Manchester Police and the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for details.

The Manchester Evening News understands that crews were called to reports of a 'person in the water' in the River Goyt earlier today.

We have learned that despite the sizeable emergency services response, no such person has been located and crews are now leaving the scene.

Police, fire crews and paramedics were at the park when passers-by walked past at 3pm.

It is understood that emergency services were called to reports of a 'person in the water' earlier today.

GMFRS are thought to have been called with partner agencies GMP and NWAS to the concern for welfare call earlier this afternoon.
