LIVE M60 and M6 traffic updates with queues on motorways

Queues are building on a number of motorways across Greater Manchester this morning after multiple crashes and breakdowns.

On the M60, all traffic was held on the clockwise side from junction 16 for Pendlebury to junction 17 for Prestwich and Whitefield. Lanes have since been reopened, but long queues remain.

An entry slip road is also closed on the clockwise side of the M60. It is shut at junction one for the Stockport Pyramid.

On the M6, one lane is shut on the southbound side from junction 19 for Knutsford to junction 18 for Holmes Chapel after a breakdown, according to traffic alert service Inrix.

M60 - GREATER MANCHESTER - CLOCKWISE - Queueing traffic due to earlier accident on M60 clockwise from J16 A666 Manchester Road (PendleBury) to J17 A56 Bury New Road (Prestwich / Whitefield).

M6 - CHESHIRE - SOUTHBOUND - One lane closed due to broken down vehicle on M6 Southbound from J19 A556 (Knutsford) to J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel). Traffic is coping well.

One lane is shut on the westbound side of the motorway from J12 and J11.

M62 - GREATER MANCHESTER - WESTBOUND - One lane closed due to broken down vehicle on M62 Westbound from J12 M60 J12 (Eccles Interchange) to J11 A574 Birchwood Way (Birchwood). Traffic is coping
