More heavy rain forecast in Greater Manchester after Met Office weather warning

More heavy rain showers are forecast in our region today following a yellow Met Office weather warning.

The warning was issued yesterday for strong winds until 10pm last night (April 15) amid a barrage of wet and windy weather. There was even some prediction of snowfall on higher grounds to the east of Manchester near the Peak District.

Today (Tuesday), more heavy rain is forecast late this morning and into the early afternoon. After sunny spells to start with, showers will then fall over our region with some turning heavy from around 1pm, according to the Met Office.

Lighter showers are then forecast through the afternoon amid some cloudy and sunny spells. Temperatures will highs of around 12C with forecasters predicting it will 'fresher'.

Conditions are likely to remain dry overnight into Wednesday with clear spells forecast tomorrow morning. It's set to be a chilly but bright start to the day before conditions turn cloudier into the afternoon.

More rain showers are then forecast with the weather feeling 'breezy'. Maximum temperatures of around 10C are forecast for tomorrow.
