Rangers slam Dundee for 'negligence and unprofessionalism' in furious statement as they demand firm SPFL action

Fuming Rangers have eviscerated "unprofessional" Dundee in a ferocious statement over the farcical call-off of the clash between the sides at Dens Park.

The furious Ibrox address accuses Dundee of breaching the SPFL rulebook and claim the second postponement due to the state of the playing surface is an embarrassment to the Scottish game, supporters and broadcasters. Rangers boss Philippe Clement hinted at the burning ire over any potential call-up and now the Ibrox side have gone in two-footed over the "negligence" shown by their rivals.

Don Robertson passed the surface at an initial 11am inspection. However, the Dens Park surface has been deemed unplayable following a 3.30pm check. It is the FIFTH call-off this season alone at Dundee and the SECOND for this fixture with a new date scheduled for next Wednesday live on Sky Sports.

In a firmly-worded address, the Ibrox side let rip, stating: "The negligence and unprofessionalism demonstrated by Dundee Football Club, where they have repeatedly breached SPFL rules, continues to have a damaging effect on the top professional league in the country. In a week where record TV viewing figures were recorded for a match in the same competition, and this evening’s game due to be televised again by Sky Sports, this episode is deeply embarrassing and has also been eminently avoidable.

"Rangers expects the SPFL to take proportionate and decisive action in accordance with its rules, and the club will continue to make representations to them in the strongest possible manner.
The club has been repeatedly putting forward solutions to the SPFL, which have not been taken up. It has again proposed a solution to the preparation and execution of this rescheduled fixture and is awaiting a
