Scottie Scheffler charged with 'assaulting police officer' as mugshot emerges from Lousville prison

Scottie Scheffler has reportedly been hit with four charges – including second degree assault of a police officer – after his arrest in Louisville.

The golf world No.1 and Masters champion was shown on US TV being huckled into a police car on Friday after what was initially reported to be a 'misunderstanding' with the flow of traffic. His car was stopped at the entrance of the Valhalla Golf Club with a police officer 'screaming' at him to get out the vehicle, before handcuffing him and detaining him in the back of a police car.

Now it's being reported by golf outlets online that he has been charged - with one court document seemingly showing he has been hit with four charges. The most serious on the rap sheet is second degree assault of a police officer, while he's also been hit for 'criminal mischief,' 'reckless driving' and 'disregarding police signals.' A mugshot has even emerged, allegedly from the Louisville Department of Corrections, showing Scheffler in an orange jumpsuit. He has since been released and is heading back to the USPGA Championship.
