Thomas Tuchel breaks silence on Premier League return amid Manchester United manager links

Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel declined to comment on whether he could return to the Premier League but admitted he loved managing in England.

Manchester United could make a managerial change this summer, with Erik ten Hag facing an uncertain future after overseeing a disappointing second season in charge.

United suffered a 13th defeat of the Premier League season, a club record, against Crystal Palace on Monday. The Reds' goal difference is minus three with just three league fixtures remaining and many felt the 4-0 hammering at Selhurst Park could be the final nail in the coffin for Ten Hag.

Ten Hag could still win a trophy this season, with the FA Cup final against Manchester City now looming, but there is a growing expectation he will be sacked after that.

In February, Bayern Munich announced Tuchel would leave at the end of the season and the German has spoken glowingly of United in past media appearances.

Tuchel is a contender to succeed Ten Hag and could leave Bayern Munich having won the Champions League, depending on if his side beat Real Madrid on Wednesday night.

The 50-year-old spoke to TNT Sports ahead of that game and discussed his future. “It’s very, very, very unlikely that it’s at Bayern," he said about where he will be next season.

"I have to say, because we have an agreement, there is at the moment no reason to doubt this agreement. We took this position, the initiative came from the club, and so it is and I’m fine with it.

"I don’t need it for the extra percentage of competitiveness because I’m always up for a win, I’m always thinking how to improve the squad
