Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk rematch date confirmed amid Anthony Joshua plan

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will meet in a rematch after this month's battle in Saudi Arabia.

The two leading heavyweights will meet in the right on May 18 looking to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999. Anticipation is building ahead of the fight after months of waiting.

Initially, the pair were due to meet in February but a cut eye sustained in sparring to Fury meant a new date had to be agreed. With fight night upon us, details of the contractual agreement have emerged.

Saudi boxing chief, H.E. Turki Alalshikh, has confirmed that a date has been pencilled in for a rematch after the first bout. In an interview with ESPN, Alalshikh said he'll stage the rematch on October 12 or 13 as part of another boxing event in Riyadh.

It is also expected that Anthony Joshua will enter the fray with the long-awaited clash with Fury planned to take place in March. Should Fury and Usyk each win one of the two fights, it's understood that the trilogy will look to take place after the all-British fight between AJ and the Gypsy King.

Fury comes into the first fight with Usyk full of confidence after back-to-back training camps. However, the Manchester-born heavyweight has acknowledged the quality of the Ukrainian.

"Oleksandr Usyk's a real bad man and to underestimate Usyk you'd be a mug," he confessed in an interview with Queensberry Promotions. "So I'm training hard for him, I'm doing everything I can.
