The Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach reportedly broke down mid-ride as the resort welcomed visitors for the first day of the bank holiday weekend. Pictures taken from outside of the theme park show a car stuck halfway up the tracks of the flagship rollercoaster.
Several people had to be walked down the side of the track to safety following the malfunction, according to eyewitness reports. Images shared online show five riders at the side of the track making their way to the ground.

There no longer appears to be any riders left in the carriage, LancsLive reports. The Big One towers 235ft over the popular Pleasure Beach resort and it can be seen from across the Fylde coast due to its height and prominence on Blackpool’s skyline.
Nobody is believed to have been hurt in the incident. A group of TikTok users under the name thethreemouseketeersuk also posted a live video from the theme part at around 11am this morning (March 29).
Pleasure Beach has not yet issued a statement following the incident. It is not currently clear when the Big One will be back up and running.
