Dortmund issue perfect four-word defence of Erling Haaland after Man City star mocked by PSG

Borussia Dortmund fired the perfect response to Paris Saint-Germain four years after they mocked Erling Haaland as they qualified for the Champions League final.

Mats Hummels' second-half header gave the Bundesliga side a 1-0 win in the semi-final second leg at the Parc des Princes and ensured it is they who will face Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in next month's final at Wembley.

After booking their place in a first Champions League final since 2013, the Germans responded to a tweet by PSG in March 2020 that took a swipe at former talisman Haaland, who played for the club between 2020 and 2022.

Fresh from defeating Dortmund 3-2 on aggregate in the 2019/20 round-of-16, PSG mocked Haaland's iconic mediation celebration by recreating it at the Parc des Princes after he had performed it when scoring in the first leg three weeks earlier.

In a photo uploaded to the Parisians' social media channels, the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Mauro Icardi and Angel Di Maria recreated Haaland's celebration with the caption "...and breathe".

However, after Dortmund dumped Luis Enrique's side out of the competition on Tuesday night, their social media account quoted PSG's tweet from March 11 2020 with the caption: "Tastes like fine wine."

After progressing into the quarter-finals four years ago, PSG defeated Atalanta and RB Leipzig in one-legged ties to reach a first-ever Champions League final. However, Neymar and Mabppe were unable to deliver a first European Cup to the Parc des Princes as they were defeated 1-0
